Obituary
John was born and raised in The Pas, Manitoba. He was born to Joseph and Anne Yaworski, Thursday, November 1, 1934 and received his early education at Red Brick School. Dad did a variety of jobs throughout his life. As a young boy, he delivered newspapers. At the age of 17, John took over the family farm. In 1956, he attended welding school in Vancouver, British Columbia and in 1957 worked for Hudson Bay Plumbing on the Mid-Canada Line. In 1958 John married Marilyn Rollings and also attended pipefitting school at Manitoba Technical Institute in Winnipeg. In 1962 he worked for Lindal Transport in Ilford, Manitoba. Over the years, Dad worked on many construction jobs in the north. In 1983 John had a serious farm accident. He spent 3 months in Winnipeg at the Health Science Center in traction. In April 2008 he was diagnosed with cancer. John passed away peacefully Monday, April 20, 2009 at St. Anthony’s Hospital, The Pas, Manitoba, age 74 years. John is survived by his wife of 50 years, Marilyn; son Kevin (Clara), grandchildren Solomon, Skylar; daughter Kimberley, grandson Shawn; son Dwayne (Loretta) and grandson Dylan. John was also blessed with 3 great grandchildren Kienan (8 years), Phoenix (5 years) and Jaidyn (2 years). John is survived by his sister Olga (Lloyd) Baschak of The Pas, MB; sisters-in-law Aileen Turner of Brandon, MB, Karen Bergeson of Rossburn, MB; brother-in-law Gary (Rita) Rollings of The Pas, MB and many cousins and family members. Family was very important to Dad and he kept in touch with a lot of them. John was predeceased by his mother Anne in 1999; father Joseph in 1947; mother-in-law Rose Rollings 1984; father-in-law Vernon Rollings 1983; step-fathers Tony Bon 1952 and John Hrychuk 1988. Prayers and visitation was held Tuesday, April 21, 2009 at the Chapel of Hemauer Funeral Home. The funeral service for John was held Thursday, April 23, 2009, 2:00 pm at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Cathedral, The Pas, Manitoba, with Rev. Paul Bringleson presiding. Music ministry was provided by Rochelle Rydberg. A private family interment was held at Riverside Catholic Cemetery, The Pas, Manitoba. The urn bearers were John’s two sons, Kevin Yaworski and Dwayne Yaworski. Immediately following the service, family and friends gathered at the Norlite Hall for a time of refreshment and fellowship.
