Joseph Doucette

It is with deep sadness that we, the Doucette family, announce the passing of Joseph Henri Rene Doucette, Thursday, October 12, 2017, at St. Paul’s Personal Care Home, The Pas, Manitoba, at the age of 89 years. Rene was born Sunday, March 18, 1928 at Trois-Riviere, Quebec to Marie Louise and Joseph Doucette. Uncle had a farm in the Carrot Valley for quite a few years, enjoying the peace and quiet and solitude. He enjoyed his horses and as a child I remember going to the stock car races on Sundays with him and Richard. Uncle would also enjoy a game of pool at the Legion with friends. In later years, I would meet him on the streets in town and he would flash me one of his beautiful smiles with a big “Hello!” I will miss those dearly. Rest in peace my dear uncle, “May you fly with all the Angels before you.” Rene was predeceased by his beloved son Richard Joseph; parents Joseph and Marie-Louise; brothers Roger, Armand, Claude; and sister Annette. He leaves to mourn brothers Rolland, Raymond, Alcide; sisters Aline, Jeannine, Jacqueline; son Rene; daughters Rachelle, Elaine; grandchildren Michel, Tanya, Jean-Guy “JG”, Marlon, Julian, Myles (Shauna), Aaron (Maggie), Eboney (Matt); great grandchildren Austin, Brandon, Mark, Mikah; many nieces and nephews. We would like to thank the staff at St. Paul’s Personal Care Home for the loving care Rene received during these past years. In keeping with Rene’s wishes, cremation has taken place and a service of remembrance to celebrate his life was held Monday, October 16, 2017, 1:00 pm, at the Chapel of Hemauer Funeral Home, The Pas, Manitoba with James Hemauer presiding. In lieu of flowers, donations to the St. Paul’s Residence Equity Fund, c/o Activities, Box 240, The Pas, Manitoba, R9A 1K4, would be appreciated by Rene’s family.
