Joseph Linklater Obituary

Frankie was born Wednesday, May 1, 1963 at Pukatawagan, Manitoba to Keno and the late Henriette (Harriet) Linklater. He grew up and lived all his life in Pukatawagan, Manitoba. Frankie was a kind man in many ways. As an adolescent he was always trying to help others. His kindness evolved at an early age. Frankie liked working with his hands. You wouldn’t find him in an office although he did try out the hospitality industry. When he was training for the front desk, his mind would always wander to the hands on work required. Frankie tried many types of jobs. He worked at the Crisis Centre for many years. He talked about how he liked the people who were there and their dedication to what they were doing. His eyes would light up when he talked about his children and grandchildren. He was very proud that he had two more grandchildren on the way. Although his relationships didn’t work out the way they should have he always cherished the children from those relationships. He often gave his last few dollars to his children without hesitation. Shortly after he got diagnosed he began doing craft work. He had his own style he developed. He said he didn’t know he had the skill until he began making crafts. It would consume many hours and kept him busy. Frank loved telling stories, no matter who was around, he had a story to share about his life and experiences. Frankie will be missed by everyone who knew him. Frank passed away peacefully with family by his side, Thursday, September 4, 2014, at St. Anthony’s Hospital, The Pas, Manitoba, at the age of 51 years. Frankie leaves to mourn his passing, his father Keno Linklater; daughters Francine Linklater, Frances Linklater, Josie Francois, Christal Linklater, Wilma Linklater; son Vernon Francois; grandchildren Keesick and Kanata Linklater; sisters Emily Linklater, Beverly (Kelly) Linklater; adopted sisters Doreen Ballantyne, Susan Caribou; brothers Rolland (Madeline) Dumas, Guy (Alfreda) Dumas, Roger Linklater; adopted brothers Brian Bighetty, Gordon Caribou, Harold Caribou; nieces and nephews Tanya Dumas, Audrey Dumas, Ronnie Dumas, Harriet Dumas, Vera Dumas, Daphne Dumas, Nellie Dumas, Patricia (George) Caribou, Priscilla (Allister) Bighetty, Peter Hart, Pearl Dumas, Kelly Mentuck, Guy Peters, Deanna Atkinson, Rock Trudeau, Cree Trudeau, William Hart, Carla Linklater, Aliya Linklater, Drayson Linklater, Paywapan Colomb, Deseree Colomb, Ivey Colomb, Ivan Jr. Colomb, Chayse Colomb, Kimberly Ballantyne, Daniel Ballantyne; aunties Anna Sinclair, Elizabeth Linklater, Marie (August) Merasty; special cousins Verna Merasty, Christine Linklater, Irene Linklater, Eleanor Linklater, Gary Linklater, Angie Merasty; all of Frankie’s cousins, relatives and friends too numerous to mention.
