Josephine Marcellais Lavalley was born Monday, March 17, 1952 in The Pas, Manitoba to Ambrose Marcellais and Stella Young. Josephine received her education in The Pas and Winnipeg. Throughout her life Josephine live in Cormorant, Snow Lake and spent most of her adult life in Winnipeg. Josephine lived life to the fullest, she loved to dance, do beadwork, caribou hair tufting and worked in a sewing shop in Winnipeg. Josephine loved to laugh and have fun with family and friends. She was willing to help out whenever she was asked and always had an infectious smile. Josephine passed away Tuesday, January 17, 2012 after a long battle with illness, at St. Anthony’s Hospital, The Pas, Manitoba, at the age of 59 years. Josephine is survived by brothers Joseph Marcellais Young, Leo Marcellais (Rosemary Head); sister Charlotte McGinnis; sons Johnny, Brian (Christie), Christian Joe; daughters Shauna, Savanna; grandchildren; and numerous other nieces, nephews, aunts uncles and cousins. Josephine was predeceased by her father Ambrose; mother Stella Young; brothers Walter Marcellais, Louis Marcellais; sisters Lorna Marcellais, Elizabeth Hoskins, Melanie Marcellais; uncles Joe Marcellais, Peter Marcellais, John Marcellais, Henry Thomas, Robert Thomas; aunts Lizette Constant (Marcellais), Annabelle Dorian (Marcellais), Florence Bignell (Thomas), Sophia Lathlin (Thomas), Eleanor McKay (Thomas); brother-in-law Clarence McGinnis; and many relatives too numerous to mention.
