Lanny was born Friday, April 21, 1978 in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Lanny was born to his natural mother Caroline Daniels and natural father Ovide Dumas. His mother Caroline Daniels gave her son to Joyce Bear and Leonard Daniels as an infant. After Joyce and Leonard separated, Joyce adopted Lanny. Joyce together with her husband Leon raised Lanny and he became their one and only son. Lanny was a vibrant, happy, rambunctious boy. His dad Leon taught him many things and would always be right by his side. Lanny was an only child until he was 11 years olds and he was ecstatic when his sisters Tesa and Tonia came along. He loved his sisters dearly and was very protective of them. Lanny loved everything in life and his favorite time of the year was Christmas. Of all of his homes, he always said that Mile 149 was the best. Lanny was proud of his large family and loved them all equally. Lanny loved his common law spouse Melissa unconditionally and his three children Collita, Drelyn, and Darious were his life. They had tremendous love for their dad and they had lots of fun with him. When he was in Pukatawagan, right behind him would be his children stepping on his heels as they went about visiting all their families. Lanny was a very strong minded, loving person and stuck to his own decisions. He had a hard life, a life he chose for himself. He chose his destiny and did what he wanted. Lanny passed away unexpectedly Thursday, May 29, 2014 at Pukatwawagan, Manitoba, at the age of 36 years. Lanny is survived by his common law wife Henrietta May “Melissa” Bear; children Collita, Drelyn, Darius and another son Lonnie Duck; his parents Leon and Joyce Bear; sisters Tesa and Tonia; nieces and nephews, he loved so much, Tia, Travis and Tawny; natural mother Caroline Daniels and her children Ann Colomb and her family, Marcel (Esther) Dumas and family, Darlene Daniels and family and Elianne D’amour; natural father Ovide Dumas; all aunties and uncles on the Dumas and Bear side, who loved our son unconditionally; all his bro’s who will miss him dearly The Big Ox, James Stepanow, Randy Bear, Jeff, Jay, Stephan, Wayne, Riley, Dakota, Tim, Vaughn, Tre, Ryan, Andrew, Deiter, Thomas, and Pavel; special friends Zenon, Jonathon Ray-Bear and spouse Vanessa Hart; adopted dad and his wife Leonard and Mary Daniels and family. Lanny was predeceased by his grandparents Luke and Caroline Dumas; infant sons Dre and Keyon; great grandparents Alex and Janie; aunties Marie Rose Dumas 1st and Marie Rose Dumas 2nd; his bro’s Luke and Kristoffer Dumas; uncle Tim Rhodes; grandfather Gabe Dumas; grandparents Joe and Anne Caribou, Adolph and Catherine Dumas, Blandine and Zachius Daniels; brothers Arthur Daniels, Alvin Dumas, and Marvin Dumas; sisters Rosie Dumas, Lorna Dumas, Marie Dumas, Daniella Daniels; and many other relatives too numerous to mention.
