Lucius Easter Obituary

It is with deep sadness and sorrow that we announce the sudden passing of our son, grandson, father, brother, nephew and friend. Lucius was tragically taken from us at the tender age of 19 years. He died of injuries sustained in a one vehicle accident in Moose Lake, Manitoba. Lucius Jr. was born Sunday, November 22, 1992 on Provincial Highway #60 in Manitoba, to Lucius Easter Sr. and Coreena Young. Lucius Jr. was raised by his grandparents Axel and Nellie Easter. He brought great joy to his grandparents, especially with his recent graduation and more so with the birth of their great grandson Lucius Rodney Easter III. Lucius Jr. was very proud of his “Mini-Me”, his son Lucius Jr. III. He had the privilege of sharing that joy of having his first son with his high school sweetheart, his girlfriend Kiana Lavallee. It was evident that they shared a deep love for one another. Lucius Jr. grew up in Easterville and spent most of his life there. He received his education in Easterville and attended Chemawawin School. He graduated with the class of 2011. His grandparents were very proud of his perfect attendance throughout his entire years spent in elementary school. Lucius Jr. spent many hours at the 4K Center, he enjoyed the company of family and friends, where they would play endless hours of games, canoeing and just spending time together. He liked playing Texas Hold’Em poker and would be engaged in a game for hours on end. Lucius Jr. enjoyed spending time with his grandpa Axel. He learned how to be a mechanic at an early age, they spent hours puttering around the yard fixing what needed to be fixed. If they couldn’t find anything to fix, they often ended up finding something that needed to be fixed. In Lucius Jr.’s short life he was asked to be godfather to two very special little ladies, Shontea and Dace, whom he adored. Coming from a blended family he had a lot of family to share his life with. He enjoyed attending and visiting whenever there was a family birthday supper. He liked to tease his aunties and also enjoyed baking and cooking. Lucius Jr. had many friends too numerous to mention but he especially liked spending time with Garfield McNabb, Garnet Easter, Robert McNabb, Carson McNabb, Jacob McGillivary, Derrick and Desmond Lavallee, Devon Young and Peter Ballantyne, Harlen Lachose, Blake Sinclair, Timo Lavallee and Errol Lachose. Lucius’s love of sports was evident throughout his young life. There wasn’t any sport that he didn’t try. He specially excelled and loved the game of volleyball. He was the all star player for the Chemawawin Eagles School Volleyball Team. He was named captain of his school team and they brought home the Zone 11 A-side banner. This victory for Chemawawin School meant a lot to the team as well as his coach Darrin Ross. Lucius also tried out for Team Manitoba and again he chose to try out his beloved game of volleyball. Travelling through a blizzard to get to the try outs in Winnipeg was a challenge, but both he and Heather along with their coaches, Emily Easter and Darrin Ross were very determined and somehow managed to get to Winnipeg. He did succeed in getting into play for team Manitoba. Lucius Jr.’s legacy will live on through his son and all who loved and knew him. Finding words adequate enough to capture such a young life wasn’t an easy task, especially when he lived life to the fullest, his accomplishments in his short life were many. Lucius Jr. will be forever remembered by his family; his son Lucius Easter Jr. III; grandparents Nellie and Axel Easter; father Lucius Easter Sr. (Charlene); mother Coreena Young; his love Kiana Lavallee; brothers Cody, Roberto, Doltin, Harley, Hunter; sisters Daphne, Daylyne, Daphlyne, Daylla, Hayley, Harlene, Honey, Harmony, Haylene and Heaven; grandfather Tom Young; as well as many aunts, uncles and cousins too numerous to mention. Lucius Jr. was predeceased by his grandmother Mildred Young (Lavallee); aunt Savannah Young; chapans William and Esther Lavallee, Maggie Ann Young and McLeod George, Donald and Jane Mary Easter; grandpas Wilson Easter, Riley Easter and John Easter; aunts and uncles Grace Easter, Allan Easter, Gertrude Easter, Elmer Easter, Leslie Easter and Donald Thomas.
