Lucy Deshaies Obituary

Cookie was born Saturday, November 13, 1943 in Shoal River and attended residential school in Prince Albert and Dauphin. Cookie was young when she left home to begin her adventure in life but returned to Dawson Bay in August 2009 after traveling the country and residing in Vancouver, Toronto, Winnipeg, Quebec, Norman Wells, and of course The Pas. Cookie was free spirited and loved the outdoors, nature and traveling to different places. She also enjoyed visiting with friends, playing cards with her Dawson Bay croonies, bingo, and building puzzles. Throughout her life she proved to be a survivor, friend, confidante, and a true buddy for life to everybody. Cookie was a great sister and always kept in touch with her family no matter where she was. She generously gave her time and energy to help her family with many things including raising their children and grandchildren. Cookie passed away Tuesday, December 28, 2010 at St. Anthony’s Hospital in The Pas, Manitoba at the age of 67 years. She had her sisters, brother and nieces by her side. Cookie is survived by her son Leonard Ivan (Lennie) and grandchildren, Hyde Aiden, Lacey Snow Angel, Joe Leonard (Jo Jo), and Leonard Ivan Ferdinand (Baby). She is also survived by her siblings Daisy, Hughie, Perley (Linda), Albert (Sylvia), Sandra (Doug), and Edna.
