Obituary for Mamie Agnes Catt

It is with great sadness to announce the passing our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, daughter, sister, and sister-in-law and elder. Mamie Agnes Catt passed at the Health Science Centre, Winnipeg, Manitoba, Saturday, May 16, 2015 with her family by her side at the age of 71 years.
Agnes was born Saturday, May 13, 1944 at Cedar Lake, Manitoba, where she was raised and lived until the relocation to Easterville, Manitoba in 1964. Agnes was united in marriage to Raymond Catt on February 16, 1964. Her and her husband Raymond Catt celebrated 51 years together and just celebrated their Golden Anniversary in 2014 with Community and Family.
Agnes was an active member to her community, she completed Department of College and Universities Affairs (2 year program) Community Health Worker on June 26, 1975, and she served for her community for 13 years as a Nurse. Later she enrolled into the Diploma Program with the Indian Affairs Child and Family Services leading her once again to serve 18 years of service for her community as the CFS Worker. She retired after of many years of employment.
Agnes was an active Elder for her community and supportive to the Chemawawin School; when she was invited to assist in functions. She will be remembered as a role model for her family and community and the positive energy that came with her. The stories and jokes she told will be missed by many. She loved fishing and hunting and trapping with her husband. She loved making moccasins and mukluks and gloves for her family. Agnes loved her family dearly and spending quality time with her sisters. She enjoyed cooking and baking for her family. She was a singer and her talent passed onto her grandchildren, Gospel, and Country music. She was a powerful believer in prayer.
Mamie Agnes Catt is survived by her husband Raymond Catt; children Elaine Gouldhawk (Reggie Walker), Delores Carlson (Orin Carlson) and Ann (Craig) Strowbridge; grandchildren Glenda Flett (Glen Bickel), John Flett (Teresa Young), Roxy Ross (Gordie), Winston Flett, Jesse Young, Asanna Strowbridge (Chance Kornick), Kelsey Strowbridge, Sydney Strowbridge, Roxy Strowbridge, Daniel Gouldhawk, Julian Gouldhawk, Jeffery Gouldhawk, Jessica George (Auggie Ledoux), Doreen Gouldhawk (Jimmy Jr Walker), Justin George; great-grandchildren Schyler Bickel, Tristan Bickel, Raysean Bickel, Shayla Brass, Kiera Flett, Payden Flett, Braxon Kornick, Chance Gerorge, Ciara Gouldhawk, Desmond Umpherville, Jessica Walker, Jerely Walker and James Feron Walker, Siva Brass; foster children Jane Mary Easter (Phillip Mink) and Cheryl Gerorge (Ray George); mother Alice George; brothers Percy (Mary Jane) George, Jack (Florence) George, Clifford (Virginia) George, Floyd George, Jonah George, Elvis (Doris) George, Thomas (Sandra) George, Kenneth (Sharon) George, Troy (Stella) George & Wayne Sinclair; sisters Margaret Klyne, Nellie (Axel) Easter, Linda George, Verna (Ed) Miller, Blanch Sinclair (Kevin Block), Marie (Scott) Bradbury, Marcia Easter, Pauline (Albert) Ross; brothers-in-laws Richard (Doreen) Bourassa, Ralph Thomas; sisters-in-law Sally Bourassa, Drucilla (Malachi) Young, Lena Gott, Beatrice Scott, Dorothy (Don) Martin, Rosemary George, Sheila George, Lorna George; aunties Lena Ledoux, Hilda Ledoux, Delia Ledoux; godchildren Lucious Easter, Eldon Lachose, Sheldon Lachose, Raymond Thomas, Elsie Daniels, Iona Umpherville, Johnny Mortin and Pierre Young; special friends Cecila Mink, Kenny (Rachel) Pronteau, Paul (Shirley) Pranteau, Morris (Martha) Bone, Cecila Sinclair and Patsy George; first cousins from Ontario, Elvis, Leonard, Paul, Donna, Jeffery and many more.
