Margaret Pierone THE PAS, Manitoba Obituary

Margaret Pierone

Margaret passed away peacefully Thursday, December 30, 2010 with her family and friends by her side, at St. Paul's Personal Care Home, The Pas, Manitoba, age 83 years. Margaret was born Sunday, August 28, 1927 in Cross Lake, Manitoba and attended residential school from a young age in Cross Lake. She was the oldest of 7 children. Margaret married Walter Genaille, and resided in Cormorant, Manitoba. They had 10 children. Margaret lost her husband Walter on July 1, 1967. She married her friend and companion, Percy Pierone in 1976 and relocated to Wabowden, Manitoba. Widowed, she relocated back to Cormorant, Manitoba in 1981. Margaret loved sewing, knitting, cross stitching, reading, traveling, but her greatest joy of all was her family. She also loved reading her "daily bread" and bible. Throughout her life, she proved to be resilient, supportive, non-judgemental, and loving to everyone. During the last few years of her life, she considered St. Paul's Residence her home and could usually be found sitting in her recliner, by her window, with her "nose" in a book. Margaret loved Chinese checkers and anyone challenging her to a game usually lost to her expertise. Margaret was a wonderful mother and "Granny", and loved having her family around her. She was always interested in hearing about what everyone was doing. She generously gave of her time, and energy and was always so considerate and appreciative of everyone. Margaret is survived by children Bert (Liz) Genaille, Tony (Isabelle) Genaille, Linda (Dave) Rodgers, Albert (Janet) Genaille, Louise (Gary) Garson, Gail (Arthur) Little, Wayne (Bernice) Genaille, Shelly (Jim) Garson, Cyril (Freda) Genaille, and the grandson she raised, James; stepchildren Edith (Jim) Hutchison, Cyril (Albertine) Pierone, Mike (Lorraine) Pierone, Johnny Pierone; siblings Bernadette (Sandy) Beardy, Clara Enout and numerous nieces, nephews, grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great granchildren and their spouses.
