Marie Sinclair THE PAS, Manitoba Obituary

Marie Sinclair

Lucille was born Sunday, April 9, 1939, to loving parents , Eli and Louisa Caribou in High Rock MB where she was raised.  At the age of 73, Lucille began her final journey in the early morning of Wednesday, January 2, 2013, for she loved to watch the sun rise and welcome a brand new day. Sewing and crafts were her passions.  She loved to be creative with things around the house and to sew for whoever came over with their orders, no matter how extraordinary or last minute.  She made square dancing outfits, wedding dresses, blankets, mocassins.  She really could make anything.  Her daughters laugh about finding their clothing all cut up just so she could have something to sew.  Sewing gave Lucille solitude and serenity, where she found her peace of mind. Lucille raised many children with her husband Elie Sinclair.  They provided a stable home where they taught them the importance of life, spirituality, education, respect, and manners.  Lucille often called the children who came into her life as 'her berries' referring to them this way because she believed that all the children she picked up along her path were who were going to get her through Our Father's gates.  Lucille's mother Louisa was a midwife, matriarch and mother to many.  Lucille was taught well and honours her mother in closely following in her footsteps.  Lucille was predeceased by her parents, brother Jacob Caribou, son Freddie Caribou, husband Elie Sinclair, grandson Lawrence Colomb, sister Rose Bear, great niece Freda Caribou, nephew Glen Colomb, as well as many other family members and friends. Lucille is survived by her brother George Caribou, sisters; Sophie (Ben) Garr , Cathy Linklater and Shirley (Elie) Castel.  Leaving to celebrate their mother's life are Gilbert Dumas, Ernest Caribou, Joe Caribou, Clement Dumas, Marina Caribou, Michelle Caribou, Ryan Colomb and Ella Caribou.  As mentioned, Lucille was mother to many, and we are aware we were not able to list everyone.  We apologize to all who crossed paths with her and were fortunate enough to have called her mom.  She will be deeply missed by all. Lucille was kokum to Thor and Lucy Perswain; Drayco Daniels and Logan Young; and Elie, Anisha and Deandra Caribou.  These young berries will know their kokum through the many stories that will be shared with them.  PRAYERS & VISITATION Saturday, January 5, 2013 7:00—9:00 pm Chapel of Hemauer Funeral Home, The Pas, Manitoba WAKE SERVICE Sunday, January 6, 2013 Home of Lucille Sinclair, Pukatawagan, Manitoba FUNERAL SERVICE Monday, January 7, 2013 10:00 am Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Pukatawagan, Manitoba Presiders: Maryann Dumas, Flora Grieves, Hilda Francois and Theresa Bighetty INTERMENT Sacred Heart Cemetery, Pukatawagan, Manitoba PALLBEARERS Elias Caribou, Alphonse Caribou, Gerald Caribou, Ernest Caribou, Ryan Colomb, Gilbert Dumas. The family of Lucille Sinclair give thanks to all who helped out and traveled to join us in celebrating her life. My Mother .. My Angel Once upon a time an angel held my hand, she wiped away my tears, and helped my understand. Our time on earth is brief, there're lessons to be learned,    each precious day God gives us another page is turned. Every chapter full of memories, times of joy and tears,    triumphs and defeats, through every passing year. She loved us unconditionally, always by our side,    when no one else would listen, in her we could confide. With gentle words of wisdom she led us on our way,    down the paths of righteousness if ever we did stray. She saw the light in everyone and gave with no regret,    always from her heart, let us not forget. Angels come in many forms, for me it's my mother,    with love I cannot say in words, there'll never be another. Every day I turn the page, in my heart will ever remain,    everything she taught me, as I stroll down memory lane. Thank you God for giving me the most priceless of all treasures,    help me Lord to keep alive her memory here forever. I pray that I can someday be everything she hoped I would,    that she's smiling down from heaven knowing she did good. As we gather here today, there's no ending to her story,    another chapter has begun, full of grace and glory. God's called her to his heavenly home, part of his great plan,    although it may be hard, we all must understand. Faith is what is hoped for, things we cannot see,    heaven is promised to all of us, if only we believe. by ~ Michelle Caribou
