Marilyn Yaworski Obituary

Marilyn was born in Crawford Park, Manitoba, Tuesday, December 25, 1934. She was born to Vernon and Rose Rollings. She attended school in Winnipeg, Portage La Prairie, Clear Creek and Onanole. Marilyn joined the Air Force in 1954. She started her training in St. Jean, Quebec and worked as a telephone operator in Clinton, Ontario, Mont Apica, Quebec and Coal Lake, Alberta. In 1957 she moved to The Pas to work at the MTS Telephone Office as a telephone operator for 2 1/2 years. She had many good times working there and met a lot of friends. In August of 1958, Marilyn married John Yaworski in The Pas, Manitoba and together they raised 3 children. Mom had a huge heart and loved all animals. She did not like to see any of them suffer. Marilyn’s pride and joy were her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She always looked forward to visiting with them. Marilyn passed away peacefully with her son Kevin and his wife Clara at her side, Saturday, February 26, 2011, at St. Anthony’s Hospital, The Pas, Manitoba, age 76 years. Marilyn is survived by son Kevin (Clara), grandson Skylar; daughter Kim, grandson Shawn, great grandchildren Kienan (9 years), Phoenix (6 years) and Jaidyn (3 years); son Dwayne, grandson Dylan and Marilyn’s faithful companion “Skunky”. Marilyn is also survived by her sisters Aileen Turner of Brandon, Karen Bergeson of Rossburn; brother Garry (Rita) Rollings of Rossburn; sister-in-law Olga (Lloyd) Baschak St. Anne and many nieces and nephews. Marilyn was predeceased by her husband John (2009); father Vernon Rollings (1983); mother Rose Rollings (1984); mother-in-law Anne Hrychuk (1999); father-in-law John Hrychuk (1988). In keeping with Marilyn’s wishes, cremation took place and a service of remembrance to celebrate Marilyn’s life took place Thursday, March 3, 2011, 2:00 pm at Christ Church Anglican, The Pas, with Rev. Rebecca Graham presiding. Music ministry was provided by Rochelle Rydberg and the Anglican Choir. Memories of the heart were shared by Kim Reinfort, Kevin and Clara Yaworski, Jack Lane and Gary Hopper. The Legion tribute was led by Comrade Murray Harvey. Urn bearers were Marilyn’s sons Kevin and Dwayne and grandson Dylan. Following interment prayers at Lakeside Cemetery, The Pas, Manitoba, friends and family gathered at the Royal Canadian Legion Hall for a time of fellowship and refreshment.
