Marjorie Mutz THE PAS, Manitoba Obituary

Marjorie Mutz

Quote “I love my family, all of them. I wish I could give them more. All my life I devoted to my family”. Marjorie was born Saturday, December 3, 1932 at Timiskaming, Ontario, Buck Township and lived most of her early years in several places in North-Eastern Ontario. Marjorie persevered through the depression and met her husband Gunter in 1956. After a whirlwind courtship, where he swept her off her feet, they were married in a scant three months. They were married for 40 years, moving from place to place, wherever his work took him from Ontario, to Alberta, to British Columbia, back to Ontario and finally settling in The Pas, Manitoba in 1979. Gunter passed away December 26, 1996 and Marjorie’s inner strength shone through after his passing. Their three daughters Cindy, Monica, and Heidi, all born in Ontario, inherited those strengths in different ways. Marjorie enjoyed singing and music. As a young adult she sang on the radio. She also enjoyed knitting, crocheting, writing, poetry, playing bingo and spending time with her family. Marjorie passed away Monday, January 5, 2015 at St. Anthony’s Hospital, The Pas, at the age of 82 years. Marjorie is survived by her daughter Cindy Lee Iles (Percy), grandson Kevin Mutz (Sarina) and great grandchild Ariel, grandson Christopher Iles, granddaughter Kara Iles; daughter and caregiver Monica Marjorie Olson (Harold), grandsons Daniel Olson and Daryl Olson; daughter Heidi Wendy St. Antoine (Scotte) and granddaughter Misty Rose Marie Carley (Ian) and great grandchildren Kennedy and Miles and granddaughter Chantelle Alyssa Jewel Pitre; sister Jean Alfreda Conti; niece Louise Garrant (Larry); and grandnephew John; cousins, nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews too numerous to mention. Marjorie was predeceased by her husband Gunter Robert Mutz; mother Sylvia Dene Greer; father Alfred Mathew Greer; brother Glen Greer; sister Nora England; and brother-in-law John Conti. In keeping with family wishes, cremation has taken place and a Service of Remembrance to celebrate Marjorie’s life will be held in mid June 2015. If friends so desire, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society, 193 Sherbrook Street, Winnipeg, Manitoba, R3C 2B7 or the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba, 6 Donald Street, Winnipeg, Manitoba, R3L 0K6, would be appreciated by Marjorie’s family.
