Matthew was born Tuesday, January 30, 1945 in The Pas, Manitoba to Thomas and Madeline Constant. Throughout his life Matthew worked as a carpenter and Health Care Aide at the Rod McGillivary Memorial Care Home. He also trapped and hunted. He also worked in the Church of Messiah as sexton from 1999 to his passing. Matthew aka “Sid” had a very good sense of humor. Dad enjoyed playing dice with many friends and family and enjoyed spending time with his children, grandchildren, brothers, sister, nieces and nephews. His favorite singers were Johnny Horton and Elvis Presley. He was a big fan of both. Prior to his illness he had his daughter Holly and son Sandy come home to take care of him. Matthew had complications with diabetes and passed away, Thursday, October 28, 2010 at St. Anthony’s Hospital, The Pas, Manitoba, age 65 years. Matthew is survived by his children Holly (Charlie), Grace (Richard), Scott (Tiffany), Sandy, Wanda (Gabriel), Lorna (Kirk), Lacey (Victor); brothers Simon, Eric (Gladys), William (M.J.), Bert; sister Linda (Harvey); sister-in-law Rev. Priscilla Constant, Gladys Constant; brothers-in-law Peter Young, Harvey Sanderson; 17 grandchildren; 2 chapans; nieces, nephews and numerous other family members. Matthew was predeceased by his parents Tom and Madeline Constant; wife Mary Ann Constant; brothers Joseph N. Constant; Rev. Tom Constant, Fred Constant, Paul Constant, Charlie Constant; sister Helen Young; sister-in-law Bernadette Constant, Doreen Constant, Muriel Constant, Agnes Cook; companion Lorraine Michelle.
