Raymond Fortin THE PAS, Manitoba Obituary

Raymond Fortin

After several years  of heart problems, Raymond Wesley Fortin quietly passed Friday July 3, 2015 at St. Paul Personal Care Home, The Pas, Manitoba at the age of 78 years. Raymond was born Thursday, September 30, 1937 in The Pas, Manitoba and was the oldest of ten children. He was united in marriage to Patricia Ann Alice Kobar and settled down  to have a family. Raymond moved his young family to Cranberry Portage where he  was  a “Jack-of-all-trades”, hauled water, fished, drove sewer truck, and was a lumber Jack to pay the bills. He lived in Cranberry Portage for several years and then back to The Pas. Raymond and Patricia were blessed with six children Shelly, John, Wendy, Frank, LeeAnn and George. Raymond landed a job working for the Department of Highways—Province of Manitoba, and worked for them until he retired. Raymond  always walked fast and never slowed down in life. He would walk fast and would hide on us in the store, who ever found him first would get a dollar (now a days you need five dollars) to buy what they wanted. Raymond will be missed  by everyone whose lives he touched in one way or another. Dad, we will miss you and know that you are no longer suffering. God Bless. Raymond is survived by his children Shelly Fortin and Tim Smith and their children Crystal Fortin (great grandson Vincent) and Charity Smith; John Fortin and his children John Jr and Linda Fortin; Wendy and Ian Dodd and their children Amy Fortin, Megan and Evan Dodd; Frank Fortin and his children Nadine and Leo Fortin; LeeAnn and Roy Ross and their son Gregory; George Fortin and his children Georgiana Scott and Zackary Fortin. He is survived by six other siblings. Raymond was predeceased by his parents Harvey and Alma Fortin (nee Rall); and three other siblings.
