Rosalie Wilson Obituary

Rosalie was born on December 10, 1949 in The Pas, Manitoba. She grew up in Big Eddy until she got married in 1968 to Joseph Young. After a couple of years, she adopted a daughter, Delia Rose Cook. Then she had a son, Frederick Young III, and six years later came Corrine. Joe and Rosalie separated, later on she met her second husband, William Constant. Years passed and William and Rosalie parted ways as well. Rosalie went to school in Big Eddy, and residential school. Later went on to Brandon University for teaching. She returned home to teach at the Big Eddy School Nursery level. After she went to Keewatin Community College where she graduated as a License Practical Nurse. One of her jobs was as a Northern Residency Nurse, where she would go to home to home caring for people. She also had numerous other jobs in Winnipeg. Missing her family she moved back home, where she found her passion to care for the elderly at the Rod McGillivary Personal Care Home. After many years, she finally retired in December 2014, but stayed on as a casual, she loved her elders too much. Mom enjoyed raising her grandchildren, crocheting and knitting. In the past she used to like playing bingo, she was also a part of the gospel singing and bible studies. In all her travels she always enjoyed meeting new people of all ages. She was a very friendly and outgoing person, she love to joke around and tease family, friends and fellow community members and elders. Rosalie passed away suddenly on Saturday, May 23rd at the St Antony’s General Hospital at the age of 65 years old with family by her side. Remaining to cherish her memories are her children, Delia, Frederick (Beverly) Young III, Corrine(Wilfred)Martin, grandchildren Leslie Cook, Norman Cook, Frederick Young IIII, Lester Young and Wapinagi Martin. Her brothers and sisters David Wilson, Juan Singh, Maggie(Darlene) Wilson, Gary(Wilma) Cook and Arthur (June) Wilson. Her uncle Gordon Bloomfield, and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and other relatives. All past and present RMCH staff, management, elders and many many friends. Rosalie was predeceased by her father and mother, Joseph and Christina Wilson, grandparents Arthur and Christie Bloomfield, Henry and Emma Wilson brothers, John, Percy, James, Sister Sarah and baby sister, numerous aunties, uncles, cousins and many other family members. To my dearest children, Delia, Guy and Lulu Today I want to remind you of just how lucky I was to be your mother. I felt like I owe all of you so much because without you I would never have known the joys of motherhood. Without you, I wouldn’t have felt complete and happy. With my role as your mother and I thank God for each and every one of you every day of my life. I want to thank you for sharing your adventurous world with me and for including me in your lives. But most of all I thank you for easing some of my misgiving about you children. I like to thank you all for enriching my life and bringing me so much happiness. Thank you all for sharing your thoughts and dreams with me as well as your ups and downs. Thank you for trusting me and accepting me as I am and thank you all for loving me unconditionally and for opening me up emotionally. Now I understand what Jesus meant when he said “Let the children come to me” Jesus knew long before and any parent ever did about the wonderful innocence and special joys that children bring. With all my love Mom Remember Remember me when I am gone away. Gone far away in the silent land. When you can no more hold me by the hand. Nor I have turn to go yet turning stay. Remember me when no more day by day. You tell me of our future that you planned. Only remember me; you understand it will be late to counsel then or pray. Yet if you should forget me for a while and afterwards remember, do not grieve; for if the darkness and corruption leave a vestige of the thoughts that once I had. Better by far you should forget and smile than that you should remember and be sad. There is an open gate at the end of the road. Through which each must go alone, and there in the light we cannot see. Our father claims his own; beyond the gate your loved one. Find happiness and rest and there is comfort in the thoughts that a loving God knows best.
