It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of our dear mom, Ruby Harriet McNabb, peacefully on Wednesday, June 19, 2012 at St. Anthony’s General Hospital, at the age of 64 years, with her sisters by her side. Mom was born May 30, 1949 in Moose Lake, Manitoba to the late Joseph and Hilda Sinclair. She received all her education in Moose Lake. Mom was united in marriage to our dad, Ahab Peter McNabb, March 28, 1966 at Moose Lake, Manitoba. In her lifetime, mom was a daughter, grandma, chapan, godmother, aunt, sister, daughter-in-law, sister-in-law, cousin and friend. She was known to many as “Ruby baby”. Mom raised her first grandchild, Jordan, as her own. She loved him very much. Mom also celebrated her birthday on the same day as her grandchild Jolene. Ruby could often be seen looking out her bedroom window into the community. She enjoyed being a homemaker and mother. These gifts allowed her to take care of others through being a Health Care Aid. She also worked for several years as a custodian at the Moose Lake School. Some of Ruby’s favorite pastimes were berry picking, cooking for her family; especially making bannock, playing Bingo and cards, and loved spending time with her grandchildren. Mom is survived by husband Ahab McNabb; children, Catherine (Jeffery), Roderick (Stephanie), Russell (Edna), Joseph, Georgina; adopted sons Steve, Jordan (Tracey); son-in-law , Phillip Mink “Ponn”; sisters, Emma Patchinose, Suzette Young, Stella (Danny) Young, Lucy (Ernest) Bercier, Beverley (Chief Clarence) Easter; only brother, Alpheus Sinclair; sisters and brothers-in-law, William Easter, Gilbert Campbell, Arthur Campbell, John McPherson, Ophelia (John) Patchinose, Donald (Cecilia) McNabb, George (Margaret) NcNabb, Solomon (Hazel) McNabb, Robert (Flora) McNabb, Amelia Buck, Mildred Tobacco “daughter”, Bartholomew Martin, Samuel (Elizabeth) Grey, and Edward (Hazel) Head. Mom was predeceased by her parents, Joseph and Hilda Sinclair; grandparents, Alex and Flora Knight; children, Mary Olive, Victoria Jane and her infant son, Ahab Peter Jr.; sisters and brothers-in-law, Olive and Joseph Sanderson, Hazel and John Sanderson, Nora Easter, Mary Jane Ballantyne, Alice Campbell, Ida Campbell, Riley Patchinose, James Young, Priscilla McPherson, Johnny Buck, Margaret (Kenneth) McKay, Frederick McNabb, Russell McNabb, Violet McNabb, Gordon McNabb, and Catherine McNabb.; sister-in-law Elizabeth Martin; parents-in-law George and Jennie McNabb.
