Scott Bradbury THE PAS, Manitoba Obituary

Scott Bradbury

Scott George Bradbury, 68 years, passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 2, 2016 at St. Anthony’s Hospital, The Pas, after a short and courageous battle with cancer.  Scott was born on Thursday, February 12, 1948, in Birch River, Manitoba, to parents Don and Ann Bradbury, the eldest of 3 boys to this union.  Scott grew up at The Bluff and Mafeking and attended school in Mafeking.  As a young child Scott loved to fish and hunt with his dad and brothers and that carried throughout his life and with his children.  He loved a practical joke and had a witty sense of humour that he used to tell his very many stories. At the age of 14 he lost his mom to cancer and later was blessed with a stepmother, another brother and finally a sister.   At the age of 17 Scott entered the workforce doing various jobs in Winnipeg, Thompson and Dawson Bay.  He also followed the Bradbury tradition as a commercial fisherman on Lake Winnipegosis and Cedar Lake but it wasn’t until he met Marie and was living in Easterville that he finally found his true calling as a Fire Ranger.  Scott loved the outdoors and had a passion for sports.   He used this passion to coach hockey and baseball in Thompson and Easterville.  He loved to share his knowledge with the younger generation teaching them life skills.  Scott was a man that could be counted on to help a friend in need and was a friend to all.  He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Scott is survived by his wife Marie of 35 years; daughters Aliceann (T.J.), ScottieLynn (Jeff); son Darren; grandaughters Jerzey and Jordyn; brothers Jack (Kathy), Derek (Marion), Clayton; sister Elaine (David) Mckay; mother-in-law Alice George;  brothers-in-law Percy (Mary Jane) George, Jack (Florence) George, Clifford (Virginal) George, Floyd George, Jonah George, Elvis (Doris) George, Thomas (Sandra) George, Kenneth (Sharon) George, Troy (Stella) George and Wayne Sinclair; sisters-in-law Margaret Klyne, Nellie (Axel) Easter, Linda George, Verna (Ed) Miller, Blanche (Kevin) Block, Marcia (George) Yeboah; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
