Scott Carrigan THE PAS, Manitoba Obituary

Scott Carrigan

It is with great sadness and heartbreak we announce the unexpected passing of our son, Scott William Clarence Carrigan (Scotty) on Friday, July 31st, 2015, at The Pas, Manitoba, at the age of 33 years. Scott was born on Monday, March 8, 1982 in Thompson, MB. He was the second son born to the family. Scotty spent most of his life living in The North, with the exception of summers spent with family and friends in Neepawa, MB. He settled in The Pas with his family in 1989 and resided there for the rest of his life. Scott was a beloved son, brother, uncle, friend, and above all else was a loving father to his son Aidan Scott Carrigan. Scott was enthusiastic about life, at the age of 24 he went back to school to obtain his grade 12 to make a better living. It was during this time he welcomed his son Aidan to the world. Scott then made a decision to further his education and attend college (KCC) to obtain his industrial welding ticket. He was quickly hired at HBR, where he worked for the next 8 years, becoming a certified carman. Throughout these years, Scotty made countless close friends and left a lasting impression on many people's lives. Scott was passionate for life; he was beloved for his sense of humour, no matter where you were in life Scotty could always make you smile and laugh. He loved cracking jokes, telling stories and playing pranks on his family and friends, there was never a moment Scotty wasn't smiling and laughing. His other passions in life included skidooing down to the fishing hole, and spending his days there fishing for his master angler. He enjoyed quadding down to the riverbank and spending countless hours fighting off "stickrals". Scott always loved to have get-togethers at his home; he always made too much food for the occasion and forced everyone to eat it because "there can't be any leftovers"! Scotty loved the outdoors, but his greatest passion and love in life was being the greatest father he could be to his son Aidan. Scott cherished the time he had spent making memories with his son, whether it was wrestling, movie night, fishing or playing games, these memories will forever live on in our hearts. Even when Scott's days were darkest he would always make sure the people around him were full of laughter and happiness. Scott would never hesitate to help a friend in need and never expected anything in return. Scott is survived by his loving son Aidan Carrigan of The Pas, MB; parents Tanis and Robert Brown of The Pas, MB; his father Tony Carrigan (Marlene) of Thompson, MB; sister Celeste Carrigan (Terry) of Brandon, MB; brother Curtis Carrigan (Alayna) of Neepawa, MB; sister Shaye Brown (Steven) of The Pas, MB. Scott was also survived by 3 Nieces, 3 Nephews, many Aunts, Uncles, Cousins and countless friends and loved ones. Prayers and visitation were held Friday, August 7, 2015, at 7:00 pm, at the Chapel of Hemauer Funeral Home, The Pas. The funeral service was held Saturday, August 8, 2015, at 1:00 pm, at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Cathedral, The Pas, Manitoba, with James Hemauer presiding. Memories of the heart were shared by Ryan Curtis, Darrell Foster, Clayton Cable and Tanis Brown. Following the service a reception was held at the residence of Scott Carrigan. In keeping with family wishes cremation followed and a private family interment will take place at a later date. Pallbearers were Clayton Cable, Lance Lintick, Darrell Foster, Evan Shelvey, Andy Huculak, Thorstein (Steini) Lindal. Honorary Pallbearers were Rick Colgan, Ernie Foster, Kevin Wadelius, Ken McMaster, Dan Fernandes, Blake Watson. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Aidan Carrigan Trust Fund, c/o of Robert and Tanis Brown at the CIBC, The Pas, Manitoba (Transit 00777; Branch 010; Account 76-37039).
