Sharon Heintz Obituary

Unexpectedly, with loved ones at her side, it is with deep sadness and heavy hearts that we announce her passing, Friday, April 19, 2013, at the Health Sciences Centre, Winnipeg, Manitoba, at the age of 72 years. Left to cherish Sharon’s memory are her husband of 54 years, Les; her four loving children Jim (Pam), Bill, Joy (Ken), Eva (Ryan); her seven grandchildren Rick, Neil, Dale, Cara, Reece, Cayleigh, Dane; her brothers Ted (Rae), Laurie (Shelagh), Rick; her sister Peggy (Wayne); and numerous nieces and nephews, as well as two great grandchildren. Sharon was born Thursday, May 2, 1940 in Winnipeg, Manitoba. She spent her early years in Winnipeg, moving to The Pas as a young woman where she met her husband Les. Her years working at the TD Bank helped prepare them for running a successful family construction business for 47 years. She did her part by doing the bookkeeping, enabling her to stay home to raise their children. Sharon was a remarkable woman, everyone in her life was important to her. Talking to her grandchildren on the phone was one of her favorite things to do; it was truly the highlight of her week. She was an avid reader and gardener and enjoyed countless hours in her flower beds and vegetable garden. Sharon was very talented at knitting, sewing, canning and baking and always enjoyed preparing meals for special occasions—she loved to keep busy and always shared her creations with family and friends. œ In keeping with Sharon's wishes, cremation took place and a service of remembrance to celebrate Sharon's life was held Friday, April 26, 2013, 1:30 pm at the Chapel of Hemauer Funeral Home, The Pas, Manitoba, with James Hemauer presiding. Music ministry was provided by Rochelle Rydberg. Memories of the heart was shared by grandson Dale Heintz. A song tribute, "Sissy's Song" was sung by granddaughter Cara Heintz and accompanied by guitarist Gilles Lafontaine. Tribute poems were read by grandsons Reece Hasell and Rick Heintz and a piano tribute, "Over The Rainbow" was played by granddaughter Cayleigh Hasell. Following the interment prayers at Lakeside Cemetery, The Pas, Manitoba, family and friends gathered at the Royal Canadian Legion Hall Club Room for a reception and luncheon. In recognition of mom’s love of flowers, arrangements are appreciated; if friends so desire, you may consider donations to the Canadian Cancer Society, 193 Sherbrook Street, Winnipeg, Manitoba, R3C 2B7. œ
