Timothy Gallagher THE PAS, Manitoba Obituary

Timothy Gallagher

Tim was born Sunday, March 2, 1952 in Yorkton, Saskatchewan to Hugh and Helen Gallagher, he is the second of four children, there are many memories of his being the biggest handful. At age seven his family moved to The Pas, MB where he attended school completing grade ten. In 1970 Tim went to Toledo, Ohio where he completed meat cutting school so he could become a butcher. Tim returned to The Pas to start a family and worked a couple of jobs until his position at The Grub Box was ready for him where he worked for 13 years. Tim took a few months off in 1976—77 to move his family to Sundance, MB, where he also worked as a meat cutter. During the late 70’s early 80’s Tim was a volunteer Fire Fighter in The Pas. By early 1990’s Tim was employed on and off with Corrections and was enjoying life with his two youngest children, and his two oldest grandchildren. In the late 90’s, Tim worked Full Time at The Pas Corrections, until his retirement a couple of years ago. In the spring of 2006 Tim met his best friend and companion Val. Tim and Val would go on to marry on August 2, 2008, and together they took on caring for foster children. Tim was always eager to lend a hand where he was needed, and foster care made him very happy. June 2012 Tim moved his family to an acreage outside of Plumas, MB where he made more friends, and bonded with more grandchildren. Tim was always full of jokes and laughter, he was always eager to visit with friends & family. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and visiting. Many hours every day you could find Tim’s phone was busy, “Mr. MTS” was busy visiting again. Tim was very proud of his family, he was always boasting about the grandchildren’s accomplishments, where his kids were in life, or trying to lend a hand. Tim passed away Wednesday, July 23, 2014 at the Neepawa Health Centre, Neepawa, Manitoba, at the age of 62 years. Tim was predeceased by his parents, Hugh and Helen Gallagher; brother Doug Gallagher; nephew Scott Barr; grandson Antony Gallagher; father-in-law Vincent “Doc” Fischer.
