Veronique was born Tuesday, August 15, 1922 in Pukatawagan, Manitoba. Veronique lived with her husband in Pukatawagan for numerous years before she moved to Lynn Lake with grandchildren after her husband entered the care home. While living in Lynn Lake, she spent her fall and winter at her trap line doing the things she loved best, beading slippers, mukluks, mitts, knitting, smoked fish and most of all teaching the grandchildren how to live in the bush and the old ways of life. Veronique also loved to spend time with friends and family playing poker or just having tea, telling stories about where she travelled and what she has seen. After raising her grandchildren in Lynn Lake, she moved on to numerous towns where she lived with family before permanently residing in The Pas. Veronique passed away Saturday, December 25, 2010 at St. Paul’s Personal Care Home, The Pas, Manitoba, age 88 years. Veronique is survived by her daughter Mary Jane (Robert) Carlson and their children Josephine Colomb (Dennis White), Murdock Colomb, Danny Colomb, Chris Carlson (Michelle), Leroy Carlson (Liz), Shawn Carlson (Jackie). Veronique is also survived by her son Oliver Colomb and his children George Bear (Agnes), Jonathan Bear (Vanessa), Grace Hunter. Veronique leaves to cherish her memory 14 grandchildren and 32+ great grandchildren. Veronique was predeceased by her husband Marious Colomb; children Adolph Colomb, Issac Colomb, Sara Jane Colomb and Gabe Colomb.
