Warren Hart

Our beloved son, Curtis came from the Sacred Land of the Spirits and Creator, born at 3:10 pm, Saturday, March 25, 1989 into this beautiful earthly life, to his mother Caroline Hart and father Simeon Merasty. A few days after Curtis was born as promised, he became the precious baby to a grateful adopted mother Marlene Dumas and baby brother to sister Amy and brothers Sonny and Herbert. From the moment Curtis became a part of his adopted family, he was the bond that tied this small family together. A bond that grew stronger each and every day and a bond that will continue to eternity. At the tender age of 2, the family moved to Thompson. Amy, Sonny and Herbert became the caregivers and practically raised their baby brother, while their mother was attending university. They were extremely protective of their baby brother, not only during childhood but right into adulthood. “Curtis”, a mother’s dream, became a loving compassionate young man. He was involved in many activities, always in a caring and respectful manner. Activities such as snowshoeing, basketball, swimming, enjoying the great outdoors, traditional activities, ceremony, camps and most of all being with his family and friends. His hero was Bruce Lee. His children Mason, Cole, Talia, Cashis and their mother Maggie, meant the world to him. In 2015 there was another addition to this family, Jill. Curtis was excited and happy to have another sister, who he just met in 2017. Curtis, beloved son, brother, friend, nephew, uncle, teacher has returned to the land of the Spirits and Creator, rejoicing with loved ones, sometimes between October 6 to October 18, 2017. On Wednesday, October 18th, his earthly body was found by loving and caring people. Words can’t describe how grateful we are for this miracle. To carry on Curtis’s message of love and hope, his children Mason, Cole, Talia, Cashis and their mother Maggie; his mother Caroline Hart and her children Halo, Savart, Jessie Serenade and Mookie; his father Simeon; adopted mother Marlene and her children Amy, Jill, Sonny and Herbert; Godparents William and Margaret Dumas; aunties and uncles Barb (Mike), Thelma (Lyle), Suzanne (Jeff), Clare (Gary), Nancy, Cecilia, Karen and many more cousins and friends. Our family is forever grateful for the searchers, the fire keepers and woodcutters for their outstanding labour of love by keeping the Sacred Fire burning bright for 30 days and 30 nights and to all close family and friends, “You know who you are.”, thank you for loving Curtis and taking care of him. Your love and support will never be forgotten.
