William Scheschuk Obituary

William “Bill” Scheschuk was born Wednesday, March 4, 1936, in Danbury, Saskatchewan to Mary (Wasylenchuk) and Samuel Scheschuk. In 1957, Bill moved to The Pas and was united in marriage to Lorna Fidler, Sunday, October 26, 1958, in The Pas, Manitoba, and together, they raised two daughters, Sandra and Barbara. Bill enjoyed listening to country music, fishing, dancing in his younger years, having coffee with his trucker friends and loved to joke around with anyone who would listen. Bill drove a big semi and had his trucking company “Scheschuk Trucking” for many years until he retired. He loved to talk about the trucking business to family and friends. When having coffee with Bill, he would always have a story to tell and would tell the same story over and over and each time it changed a bit (we didn’t know if it was true or false, but we gave him the benefit of the doubt). Bill also enjoyed telling jokes and keeping everyone laughing. Bill passed away unexpectedly Thursday, July 7, 2011, at St. Anthony’s Hospital, The Pas, Manitoba, at the age of 75 years. Bill is survived by his wife Lorna, and daughters Sandra (Jim and Tazz) and Barbara (Randy), granddaughter Jamie, great granddaughter Sara. Sisters, Frances Anaka, Elsie Lozinski (Laddie), Gloria Trudeau (Eddie), Elizabeth Garnier, Brother, Edward Beskorowayni (Betty), Nephew, Wayne Scheschuk and many other nieces and nephews. Bill was predeceased by his Brother, Steve “Pepsi” Scheschuk (Jean), Sister, Nellie Fincaryk (John), Sister, Jean Hyska (Ivan). In keeping with Bill’s wishes, cremation took place and a service of remembrance to celebrate Bill’s life was held Tuesday, July 12, 2011, 3:00 pm at Christ Church Anglican, The Pas, with Rev. Rebecca Graham presiding. Eulogy was given by James Hemauer. Immediately following the service, everyone was invited to a luncheon at the Royal Canadian Legion Hall. Honorary pallbearers were all Bill’s family and friends. A private family interment will be held at a later date. Donations made to St. Paul’s Personal Care Home, Resident’s Activity Fund, Box 240, The Pas, Manitoba, R9A 1K4, in Bill’s memory, would be appreciated by his family.
