It is with deep sadness and sorrow that we announce the passing of our loving dad Zaccheus Grey. Zaccheus Grey was born Saturday, January 10, 1948 in Moose Lake, Manitoba. Zaccheus was united in marriage to Verna Easter on December 20, 1966 and together they were blessed with 4 children. Zaccheus lived in Moose Lake all his life and he received his education at the Moose Lake School. In his earlier years Zaccheus was self employed as a trapper, commercial fisherman and packer and he also worked for Moose Lake Loggers for many years, until he retired from logging. Zaccheus loved spending time outdoors, driving his bike, visiting friends and he loved spending time with his grandson, “his buddy” Ryan. He also loved playing soccer in his younger years and camping with his friends. Zaccheus was a member of the Welfare Committee and the Emergency Fire Fighters and also a construction worker on the Moose Lake School. Zaccheus was in a band called “The Ramblers”. He loved spending most of his days with his Chapan “Plum-Plum” (Rosemary) whom he loved so much. Zaccheus suddenly passed away in Winnipeg, Manitoba at the Health Sciences Center, Thursday, February 16, 2012, at the age of 64 years. Zaccheus is survived by his wife Verna Grey; children Lydia, Marilyn (Howard) Ballantyne, Derrick (Jenny) Grey and Eugene (Patsy) Grey; grandchildren Foster, Debbie, Lindsey (Jack) George, Derrick “DJ”, Deborah, Ryan, Dale, Tricia, Lacey, Deanna, Jerrid, Baby Eugene Jr.; great grandchildren Jayde, Foster Jr., Rosemary, Ian, Forrest, Johnson, Jaylyn, Tyrese; godchild Delbert Grey. Zaccheus is also survived by brothers Abel (Margorie) Grey, Jonas (Carol) Grey, Samuel (Elizabeth) Grey, Morris Grey; sisters Irma (Joseph) Lambert, Flora (Raymond) Tobacco, Ila (Norman) Sanderson, Flora (Lester) Bignell; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law Virginia Grey, Maria Grey, Ann (Charlie) Nasikapow, Marilyn (John) Mercredi, Florence (Alex) Ducharme, Caroline Easter, Helen (Ed) Hanslip, John James (Jeannie) Easter, Donald Easter, Louisa Easter; aunties Brenda Martin, Dorothy Martin; uncles Bart Martin, John (Joyce) Martin; and nieces and nephews too numerous to mention. Zaccheus was predeceased by his parents Rachel and Bert Grey; mother-in-law and father-in-law Doreen and John Easter; brothers Roddy Grey, Percy John Grey; granddaughter Baby Angel Grey; grandparents Flora and John Martin, Frederick and Jean Grey; aunties Isabella Martin, Elizabeth Martin, Mary Beardy; uncles Abel Martin, Archie Martin; brother-in-law Lloyd Easter; nieces Bobbie Easter Lorna Ballantyne, Baby Adrienne Grey; nephews Phillip Grey, Brian Grey, Jonas Brian Grey, Norbert Frank Bignell.
