Abram Abe Warkentin Obituary

Abe Warkentin, loving husband, father, grandfather & great grandfather was born on August 10, 1927 in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Abe grew up on a farm west of Glenlea where he attended the Glenlea School and church. He was baptized on confession of his faith in June of 1947. On June 10, 1953 Abe married the love of his life, Edith Wiens. They enjoyed 64 years together. God blessed their marriage with 6 children, 14 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. This served him well in his life-long career as a mechanic and fixer of everything. He worked at the Glenlea Service Station as a mechanic for 34 years. Abe could fix the biggest combine or the smallest wrist watch. Abe also enjoyed spending time with his family, playing and watching sports, maintaining his immaculate yard, woodworking, doing crossword puzzles and combing his beautiful hair. We remember Abe as a quiet and gentle man with quick wit. He was a man of faith and a great example to his family. We will miss him dearly. If friends so desire, donations may be made to Mennonite Central Committee or the Mennonite Collegiate Institute in Gretna.
