JOHNSON, CLAUDE - (1940-2011) - ST. IGNACE, NB - Claude Johnson, 71, of St. Ignace, passed away peacefully at the Stella-Maris-de-Kent Hospital, Ste. Anne de Kent on Sunday, September 4th, 2011. Born in St. Ignace, he was the son of the late Narcisse and late Yvonnice (Allain) Johnson. Claude was the assistant manager of Le Buttereau in St. Ignace for 35 years and he was an avid golfer. He attended the St. Ignace de Loyola Roman Catholic Church. Claude will be sadly missed by his seven sisters; Sr. Yvette Johnson, C.N.D. of La Romaine QC., Jeannette Johnson of Richibucto, Jacqueline Thébeau (Alphée) of St. Ignace, Yvonne Pellerin (Tony) of Bowmanville, ON, Roberte Guimond (Paul) of St. Louis, Jacinthe Johnson of Richibucto, and Lyne Johnson (Donald) of St. Ignace, by his seven brothers; Laurie, Donald (Camilla), Edgar all of St. Ignace, Bernard of Springfield, Mass, Léo-Paul, Camille (Marielle) and Yvon also all of St. Ignace, by his brother-in-law; Arthur Poirier of Musquash as well as by several nieces and nephews. Other than by his parents, Claude is predeceased by his sister; Marie Poirier. Resting at Thompson Memorial Home, St. Louis de Kent with visitation on Wednesday from 2:00-4:00pm and 7:00-9:00pm, and Thursday from 9:00am until the departure for the funeral. A funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, September 8th, 2011 at 11:00am at the St. Ignace de Loyola Roman Catholic Church, St. Ignace, followed by burial in the parish cemetery. If so desired, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or to the Palliative Care Unit at either the Stella-Maris-de-Kent, or the Dr. George-L.-Dumont Regional Hospital would be appreciated by the family.
