McCLENAGHAN, DELMER L. (TEX) - 1937-2013 - Miramichi, N.B. - It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of my husband, our father, Grandpa and Buca. Tex passed away peacefully with his family and his dear friend Irene Christie by his side, on Wednesday evening, July 3, 2013, at the Miramichi Regional Hospital, following a courageous battle with cancer. Born on May 26, 1937, in Regina. Sask., he was the son of the late Lloyd J. and Daisy (Freethy) McClenaghan. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by one infant sister, Doreen. He is survived by his wife, the former Barbara D. Kewley; his two sons, Richard A. McClenaghan (Lorna) and Robert E. McClenaghan, all of Miramichi; his daughter Tina Thomas (Andrew), of Winnipeg, Man.; Grandchildren Stefan and Jacob McClenaghan, of Barrie, Ont., Olivia and Zaccary, of Winnipeg, Man.; two brothers, Garry McClenaghan (Vikki), of Texas and Bill McClenaghan (Carole), of Edmonton, AB.; one sister and brother in law, Blair and Bev Gordon, of High River, AB; as well as several nieces and nephews. Tex served in the Canadian Armed Forces (R.C.A.F.) for over twenty-four years and following had a second career with Brunswick Mines Ltd. in Bathurst exceeding eighteen years. He was a dedicated volunteer with the Loggieville Fire Dept. for twenty-five years. Visitation will be at Adams Funeral Home Ltd., 140 King St., Miramichi, on Friday, July 12th, from 2 to 4 & 7 to 9 pm. A celebration of Tex's life will be celebrated from Adams Funeral Home Chapel, on Saturday, July 13th, 2013, at 2 pm. Please note - original and long serving members of the Loggieville Fire Dept. are asked to assemble at the funeral home on Saturday, at 1:30 pm to form an honor guard at the service. Immediately following the service and interment there will be a reception at the F.P. Loggie Hall, in Loggieville. As expressions of sympathy, local donations in New Brunswick can be made to the Dr. Henri Cormier Lodge in Moncton (37 Providence St., Moncton, N.B. E1C 8X3) or donations from Western Canada can be made to the Tom Baker Research Center (1331 - 29 Street, N.W., Calgary, AB B2N 4N2). The family would like to express their gratitude to the Extra Mural Nursing Staff, Dr. Mary Davis of Halifax and Dr. R. Boulay. A special appreciation is extended to Bev and Blair Gordon, Roberta Ellingsen, Jack & Irene Christie, Evette & Sharon Doiron, Keith & Nola Manderville, as well as the staff of the Palliative Unit of the Miramichi Regional Hospital, for all their kindness.
