Judith \'Judy\' M. Rothwell, 76, of Moncton, passed away peacefully at The Moncton Hospital on Monday, May 17, 2010. Born in Moncton, she was the daughter of the late C. Herbert (Bert) and Hilda (Brooke) Davies. Judy was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and retired secretary at Beaverbrook School, with 25 years service. She was a long time member of St. George's Anglican Church, former Sunday School teacher and former member of the Vestry. She was a 55 year member of the Sir Charles G. D. Roberts IODE and one of the founding members of the Moncton Chapter of the Alzheimer Society of New Brunswick. She enjoyed sewing, reading, walking, playing bridge, watching tennis, golf and curling. Judy was a friendly person who loved people and was very adept at recognizing them and remembering their names. She enjoyed socializing with her friends and spending precious time with her family. Judy will be sadly missed by her husband of 56 years, Robert J. (Rocky) Rothwell; daughter, Beth Girvan (Michael Carter), Moncton; son, R. Brooke (Lucy), Edmonton, AB; grandchildren, Andrew and Craig Girvan, James and Jœl Rothwell; sister, Nancy Schipper (Bert), Wheatley, ON; sister-in-law, June Lockhart (Frank), Toronto, ON; several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her son, Mark (April 2, 1981). Visitation at Ferguson Knowles Funeral Home, 1657 Mountain Road, Moncton (858-1995), Wednesday, 7 to 9 pm. Funeral Service, St. George's Anglican Church, Thursday, May 20, 2010, 1:30 pm, Archdeacon Reginald Stockall officiating. Reception in the Church Hall following the service. Interment, Fair Haven Memorial Gardens. In Judy's memory, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society, the Alzheimer Society of New Brunswick or a memorial of choice would be appreciated by the family.
