The death of Ladona Florence (Wilbur) McKinley, wife of the late Norman Russell McKinley occurred on Monday, June 7th, 2010 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital. Born in Albert Co., New Brunswick, daughter of the late Armon and Lavetta (Kennie) Wilbur. Ladona was a graduate of the Provincial Normal School and was a teacher for over 23 years retiring in 1987. Ladona loved gardening, music and traveling and for many years was an avid Duplicate Bridge Player. Although most of her adult life was spent in Fredericton, she loved to always travel to her home in New Horton, Albert County when possible. She was a devoted and caring wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and will be sadly missed by her family and many friends. Ladona is survived by her children R. John McKinley of Fredericton and Joan McKinley of Edmonton, AB; one brother, Trueman Wilbur (Teresa) of Riverview, NB; four grandchildren, Laura Brooks (Walter) , Leanne McKinley, Nadine and Nicholas Guerrette; 2 great-grandchildren (who lovingly called her G.G.), Walter Jr. and Kassidy Brooks; one son-in-law, Dan Guerrette in Ottawa, ON. She is predeceased by her parents, her husband Russell, one daughter Ellen, one brother Lester, and one grandson Clifford Richard Sacobie. The family will receive visitors at McAdam's Funeral Home, 160 York Street, Fredericton on Friday, June 11th, 2010 at 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM. The funeral service will take place at the J.A. McAdam Memorial Chapel on Saturday, June 12th, 2010 at 11AM with the Rev. Bob Jones officiating. A private interment will take place in the Bayview Cemetery, Riverside Albert Co.
