It is with broken hearts that the family of the late Myrtle Rice announces her passing. Myrtle passed peacefully away at the James Paton Memorial Hospital, Gander, NL on Tuesday, August 11th, 2020 at the age of 79 years. Predeceased by her husband - Thomas Rice (2017); grandson - Sheldon Rice; parents - Stanley & Johanna Gale; parents-in-law - Theodore & Margaret Rice and siblings-in-law - Bill Hewitt, Arthur Pittman, Hayward Randell and Baxter Jacobs. Left with many fond and loving memories are her children - Judy Lidstone (Darrell), Hughie Rice (Annie), all of Purbeck’s Cove, NL and Sherry Rice (Rob), Westport, NL; grandchildren - Jeremy, Brandon, Joshua, Jocelyn, Preyanka, Shania and Stacie; great-grandchildren - Chloe, Jaxon and Kensley; siblings - Jessie Rice (Garland), Emily Hewitt, Maude Pittman, Doris Randell, Patricia Jacobs (Rod) and Garland Gale (Dorothy) as well as large circle of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Due to the COVID-19 Global Pandemic, the Public Health Advisory and associated restrictions, we regret to announce that there will be no Public Visitation. Reverend George Critchell conducted a Private Family Funeral Service at St. Peter’s Anglican Church, Westport, NL. Interment followed at St. Peter’s Anglican Cemetery, Westport. We encourage extended family and friends to share condolences, memories and/or photos to Myrtle’s memorial wall, available on our website. All items will be documented and displayed in our personalized guestbook and presented to the Rice family.
