It is with broken hearts that the family of the late Shawn Lester Batstone announces his passing. Shawn passed away at the Baie Verte Peninsula Health Centre, Baie Verte, NL on Sunday, April 5th, 2020 at the age of 48 years. Predeceased by his father – Lester Batstone; brother – Paul Batstone; grandparents – Selby & Maud Batstone and Samuel & Rita Croucher; brother-in-law – Barry Giles, aunts – Sylvia Starkes and Verna Batstone and uncles – Norman Croucher and Clayton Croucher. Left to cherish a lifetime of wonderful memories is his wife of 24 years – Marie, Nipper’s Harbour, NL; children – Christopher (Michelle), Fort McMurray, AB and Shane (Brianna), Nipper’s Harbour; three grand-fur babies – Basil, Max and Olivia; mother – Elsie Batstone; parents-in-law – John & Von Johnson; siblings – Elaine Andrews (Rick) and Rodney Batstone; siblings-in-law – Dolores Newbury (Larry), Shannon Johnson (Lori), Ward Johnson (Diane), Hilda Gray (Steve), Tim Johnson (Shelley) and Samantha Fahey (Scott); nephews and nieces – Dylan, Cameron, Ethan, Dean, Jonah, Renee, Nikita, Nick, Lucas, Madison, Marissa and Andrew; very special great nieces and nephews – Charlee Lynn, Lilly, Jacob, Jensen and Blake as well as a large circle of extended family and friends. Special thanks extended to the Dr. Lotter, nurses and staff of the Baie Verte Peninsula Health Centre and to Shawn’s home care worker, Sarah Shea for their loving care during Shawn’s illness. Due to the COVID-19 Global Pandemic, the Public Health Advisory and associated restrictions, we regret to announce that there will be no Visitation or Funeral Service. Barbara Noble conducted an Immediate Family Graveside Service at Nipper's Harbour United Church Cemetery, Nipper's Harbour, NL on Thursday, April 9th, 2020 at 1:00PM.
