SHIRLEY MARIE O’REILLY

1940 – 2020

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Shirley Marie O’Reilly announce her passing at the Carmelite House in Grand Falls-Windsor, NL on December 30, 2020 at the age of 80. Shirley O’Reilly (nee Beaton) was a member of Sacred Heart Church. She retired from the Roman Catholic school board, opened her own business, and retired from Shirley’s Take-out in Bishop’s Falls. Shirley is predeceased by her husband, Leo O’Reilly; son, Leo; parents, Roland and Theresa Beaton; sisters, Marjorie Nichols and her husband Earl Nichols, and Cecilia Taylor; and brothers, Kevin Beaton and his wife Fannie, and Gerald Beaton. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories are her son, Stephen of Bishop’s Falls, NL; daughters, Deborah (Lorne) of Bishop’s Falls, NL; Jacqueline (Rex) of Peterview, NL; Karen of Bishop’s Falls, NL; Margaret (Daniel) of British Columbia, and Leona (Winston) of Alberta. Also leaving to mourn are her sister, Elizabeth Keefe; and grandchildren, Ambrose, Kevin, Leiland, Coreana, Nicole, David, Robynn, Myranda, Lacey, Renee, John, Terry, and Mark. Father Moses Nwokocha will conduct the funeral mass from Sacred Heart Church in Bishop’s Falls, NL. Pallbearers are Dean Keefe, Robert LeDrew, Ambrose O'Reilly, Joe O'Reilly, Roland Pelley, and Leiland Gallagher. Honorary pallbearer is Christopher Pelley. Interment will be held at a later date. Due to COVID-19 regulations, the funeral will be held for family and invited guests only. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Jim Maidment of Central Funeral Homes. Donations may be made in her memory to the Lionel Kelland Hospice.
