Young, Edith (Allen) Passed peacefully away at Lakeshore Hospital in Pointe-Claire, Quebec on Thursday, May 24, 2012 at the age of 81. She was born on January 5, 1931 in Foxtrap, NL to the late Reuben & Mary Elizabeth Young (Delaney) but moved to Montreal, Quebec in 1949 where she resided until her passing. She is survived by 3 sons, David, Michael and Greg and her grandchildren whom she adored as well as her sisters Violet, Hilda, Edwina, Judy, Edie, Lorraine and Rosalind and brothers Reg and Bill as well as her large extended family. Predeceased by her sister Betty and baby siblings Willis, David and Jeanette. Although Edith left at a young age and made a life in Montreal for the past 63 years, Newfoundland was always her true home and it held a special place in her heart. In keeping with her wishes, cremation has taken place in Montreal and she has been lovingly returned to her beloved Newfoundland to rest for eternity with her parents. A service of remembrance will be held on Tuesday, June 5, 2012 at All Saints Anglican Church, Foxtrap at 2:00 pm. Interment in the Anglican Cemetery, Dunn’s Hill Road, Foxtrap.
