Fagan, Ernest George – April 2, 1948 to February 13, 2017 It is with great sadness and sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father and grandfather. Surrounded by loved ones Ern passed peacefully away at the Health Sciences Center on Monday, February 13, 2017 after a courageous battle with cancer. He was preceded in death by his father Hubert Fagan, sister Rosalind Butler, mother-in-law Florence Taylor, and father-in-law John Albert Taylor. Ern is survived by his loving wife and best friend of 48 years Elsie Caroline Fagan, his devoted children Roxane Bowden (Pete), Rodney Fagan (Laura), and Kathy Fagan (Barry), and his two precious grandchildren Matthew Wall (Poppy’s Partner) and Joann Wall (Poppy’s Girl). He is also survived by his mother Hilda Fagan, brothers David (Joselyn), Rick, and Reginald (Nancy), his sister Madonna Lawrence (Francis), and his brother-in-law Clyde Butler. He is mourned by a large circle of family and friends. The family would like to thank the nurses and doctors of 55B who took special care of Ern, particularly Allison and Kim. The professionalism and compassion you showed us will never be forgotten. Visitation will take place in the James J. Hickey Memorial Funeral Home, Kelligrews on Thursday, February 16, 2017 from 7:00-9:00pm, and Friday, February 17, 2017 from 2:00-4:00pm and 7:00-9:00pm. A celebration of his life will take place at All Saint’s Church, Foxtrap on Saturday, February 18, 2017 at 11:00 am. In lieu of flowers, a donation in his memory can be made to the Dr. H. Bliss Murphy Cancer Care Foundation. No flowers by request, due to allergies, the family advises that there will be a scent-free visitation.
