Gladys Hibbs Obituary

Hibbs, Gladys (Dawe) The matriarch of the Hibbs clan from Topsail, formerly of Greeleytown, Gladys Hibbs (Dawe) passed peacefully away on September 30th, 2013. With a heart so strong to battle through illness until her get up and go was gone, she will be remembered as the sharp-tongued, tough-loving, witty, honest and loyal sister, wife, mother, grandmother and friend to many, both here and in the hereafter. Predeceased by her husband George, her sister Myrtle (Whalen), brothers Will and Clayton. She will be cherished by sons Howard (Linda), Bruce (Sue), grandchildren Timothy, Andrew (Nicole), Chris (Lindsey) and Joanne, as well as great-grandchild Georgia, cousins, nieces and nephews. And to all who kept her company in her final years, she will be missed for her irreverence and spirit. She will be remembered by her friends at Worsley, with whom she shared so many meals, laughs and games of cards. Rest up, Glad; there’s people anxious to see ya. Visitation in the James J. Hickey Memorial Funeral Home, Kelligrews on Thursday from 2:00 – 4:00 pm and 7:00 – 9:00 pm.
