Rachel Gladys Tilley Obituary

Tilley, Rachel Gladys On Friday, September 16th, 2011, at the age of 93, Rachel, completed the circle of her life with us. In the dawn of the morning she peacefully departed from our family where she will again be united with her family that has gone before her. Predeceased by her husband Maxwell Tilley, her parents William and Bertha Porter and her infant sister Violet, brother Isaac Porter. During her very well lived life, she enjoyed time at the cabin, in the motor home, the love of knitting and sewing (of which we all received double knit cuffs and blankets), music and most of all family and friends, left behind to continued her passion for life of our Mother and GrandMother (Mom Tilley) whose lively spirit continued to inspire us. She carried the unending love, admiration and gratitude of her five children, Esther Haines (Robert), Mervyl Tilley (Joanne), Gladys Taylor, Mildred Greenslade (Charlie) and Wilbur Tilley (Glenys), 10 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great grandchild, nephew Harvey Porter and her Special Friend, “ Joyce”. Our heartful thanks to the staff of Chancellor Park, especially Sherry and Curtis, for their excellent care especially in recent months when their sensitivity was most needed. You made her final days comfortable and dignified. Visitation in the James J. Hickey Memorial Funeral Home, Kelligrews on Saturday, 2 – 4 and 7 – 9 pm. Funeral service in All Saint’s Anglican Church, Foxtrap on Sunday, September 18, 2011 at 2 pm. Interment in the Anglican Cemetery, Church Road, Foxtrap. Flowers gratefully accepted, or donations may be made to All Saint's Building Fund. To sign the guest registry, or to send a message of condolence, please visit www.hickeysfuneralhome.ca Don’t think of her as gone away her journey’s just begun, Just think of her as resting in a place or warmth and sun. Think of her as living in the hearts of those she touched, For nothing loved is ever lost, and she was loved so much.
