WALTER GORDON SCOTT “GORD” MAIDMENT 1925 - 2019 It is with great sadness that the family of the late Walter Gordon Scott Maidment announce his passing at the Central Newfoundland Regional Health Centre in Grand Falls-Windsor, NL, on July 28, 2019 at the age of 93. Gordon was a member of the Salvation Army and retired from Abitibi. He is predeceased by his brother, Ernest, and sisters, Mary, Neta, and Isabella. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories are his wife, Eva, sons, Ernie (Diane) of Summerside, PEI, and Jim (Sharon) of Grand Falls-Windsor, NL, and daughter, Judy (Clyde Marshall) of Grand Falls-Windsor, NL. Also leaving to mourn are his grandchildren, Kelly, Khrista (Josh), Michael (Leanne), Mark (Yani), Jamie (Josephine), and Jeffrey (Christa), and great-grandchildren, Noah, Max, Oliver, Emma, Gabriel, Ernesto, Eduardo, Zackery, Deven, Caitlyn, John, and Evan. Captains Laurie and Devin Reid, assisted by Majors Bessie and Les Barrow and CSM Lorraine White from the Park Street Salvation Army Citadel, will conduct the funeral service at Central Funeral Homes Chapel on Wednesday, July 31, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. Pallbearers will be his grandsons, Michael Maidment and Jeffrey Marshall, and family friends, Merv Sacrey, Glenn Newhook, Lou Alteen, and Otto Ryan. Interment will be held at the Interfaith Cemetery, Grand Falls-Windsor. No flowers by request. Donations may be made in his memory to the Lionel Kelland Hospice.
