Gregory LeDrew Grand Falls-Windsor, Newfoundland and Labrador Obituary

Gregory LeDrew

Gregory Gilbert Gerard LeDrew February 2nd, 1947 – February 11th, 2020 It is with great sadness that the family of the late Gregory LeDrew announce his passing peacefully at the Central Newfoundland Regional Health Center in Grand Falls-Windsor on February 11th, 2020 at the age of 73. Greg retired from Abitibi upon closure of the mill in 2009 after 42 years of service. After working in numerous departments in the mill he finished his career in the TMP plant. Greg was loved by his coworkers and enjoyed cooking up a scoff for the crew. Greg was a kind and considerate man with all those who came in contact with him. Always willing to lend a helping hand and his kindness touched a lot of lives. He was a practical joker with a great sense of humour. During his off-time and in retirement Greg could be found spending his time with family, he was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He lived for his grand-daughter, Holly. He could be found at any time whipping up French toast or making homemade fries as she requested because “pop makes the best”! Greg had an avid love for the outdoors and spent many days at his cabin. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and rabbit catching. He was a man who loved us all and we in turn will miss him profoundly. Greg is predeceased by parents Walter and Christella LeDrew, sister Phyllis Randell, in-laws Harold and Selena Brace, brother-in-law Robert Hiscock, nephew Edward Knight and niece Stephanie Saunders. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories are his wife of 46 years Loretta (Brace), daughter Lori (Rich), son Scott (Tera) and granddaughter Holly. Also leaving to mourn are brothers Bill (Sadie), Paul (Daphne), Dennis (Wanda); sisters Janet, Dorothy (John), Lorraine (Bill), Linda (Ray), Susan (Don), brother-in-law Harold (Pauline); sisters-in-law Christine (Garry), Linda (Dan), Sheila (Leonard), Sherry (Gerald) and a large circle of nieces, nephews and friends. Father Joseph Uy will conduct the funeral service at the Central Funeral Homes Chapel on February 14, 2020 at 11:00 am. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Jim Maidment of Central Funeral Homes. Many thanks to the doctors, nurses and staff at the Grand Falls-Windsor Cancer Clinic for their care & compassion over the last few years and also to the Red Cross for your ongoing support.
