Melvin Coombs

It is with great sadness that the family of Melvin Clarence Coombs announces his sudden passing at the Health Sciences Centre in St John’s on Tuesday, September 3rd, 2019, age 57 years of Hermitage. Melvin leaves to mourn his loving family: daughter, Mindy (Dave MacSween) at Gibbons, AB; son, Waylon Coombs at Hermitage; special granddaughter, Ava, whom he adored and cherished; his former wife, Elaine Stack (Bert) at Petty Harbour; sisters, Joan (Clayton Poole) at Hermitage and Wanda (Paul Kendell) at Clarenville; brother, Randy at Sandyville; a number of nieces and nephews; plus a number of other relatives and friends. Predeceased by his parents, Edward and Madeline Coombs. Visitation took place at St. Saviour’s Haven on Thursday evening, September 5th, and Friday, September 6th, 2019. Funeral service was held at St. Saviour’s Anglican Church at Hermitage on Saturday, September 7th, 2019 at 3:00 pm. with Rev. Robynn Toal officiating. Interment followed at the Anglican Cemetery, Hermitage–Sandyville.
