RONALD RICE 1933 - 2020 It is with heavy hearts that the family of the late Ronald Rice announce his passing at the Green Bay Health Centre in Springdale, NL on January 20, 2020 at the age of 86. Ronald was a member of the Pentecostal Church, and retired from a lifetime of fishing at the age of 72. He is predeceased by his wife of 62 years, Hazel, parents, Edgar and Dulcie Rice, sisters, Gertie Wellman, Melvina Slade, and Ruth Burton, and children, 3 baby girls and 1 baby boy. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories are his wife, Elsie, sons, Mervin (Alma) of Brighton, NL, Fred (Glenda) of Deer Lake, NL, Neil (Ida) of Brighton, NL, Layton (Suzanne) of Brighton, NL, Landon (Cavell) of Letang, NB, Dean (Valerie) of South Brook, NL, and Jerome (Arlene) of Fort McMurray, AB, daughters, Cynthia Morey (Joe) of Port Anson, NL, Winnie Matthews (John) of South Brook, NL, and Donna Budgell (Ken) of South Brook, NL. Also leaving to mourn are his sister, Hazel Hapgood, 24 grandchildren, and 38 great-grandchildren. Pastor Wayne Baker will conduct the funeral service at the Triton Pentecostal Church on January 23, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. Interment will be held at the Brighton Community Cemetery. Pallbearers are his sons, Mervin, Fred, Layton, Landon, Dean and Jerome. Honorary pallbearer is his son, Neil. In lieu of flowers, donations will be accepted to the Brighton Community Cemetery Fund. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Ken Goodyear of Central Funeral Homes.
