Delores Edna Boudreau Obituary

It is with great sadness that the family of Delores Edna Boudreau, 81, of Lunenburg announces her passing on Thursday, October 19, 2017 at Harbour View Haven Home for Special Care, Lunenburg.   Born in Arichat, she was a daughter of the late Henry and Estelle (Joyce) Landry.                                               Delores had an active and varied working life in Petit-de-Grat and Lunenburg. She was a welcome and familiar face where she was employed in earlier years at Harbour View Haven, the Lunenburg Day Care, Lunenburg Library and Kinley’s Drug Store.   Delores always wanted to fulfill her lifelong dream of operating her own business so she opened up Dee Bee’s Bits and Pieces on Lincoln Street. She enjoyed the interchange of creative ideas with her customers. She spent her final working years at Frenchy’s happily chatting with all the people she served.   Having a great love for carpentry, Dolores spent many hours on her carpentry projects and enjoying time spent in her garden.  She was a member of St. Norbert’s Roman Catholic Church in Lunenburg.   Among all her pursuits over the years, family remained the most important part of her life and she shared and supported each and every one in their endeavors.   Delores is survived by her husband, Raymond; daughters, Teresa (Terry), Dade City, Florida; Diana (Dale) Cook, First South; Susan (Wade) Wilkie, Blockhouse; Sandra (Donald) Wade, Bridgewater; Sharon Boudreau (Rob), First South; sons, George (Peggy), Rhodes Corner; William”Billy” (Lisa) Halifax; Christopher (Marie), Greenwood; sister, Elizabeth Bowen, Antigonish, NS; seventeen grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.   Besides her parents, she was predeceased by son-in-law, Franklyn Leary, grandson, Andre and 2 foster siblings.   Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Dana L. Sweeny Funeral Home, 11213, Hwy #3, Lunenburg, with visitation Saturday from 7 to 9 p.m. and where a funeral celebration will be held Sunday at 2:00 p.m. Deacon Patrick Morris, officiating. Interment will follow the service at Hillcrest Cemetery, Lunenburg.   In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Harbour View Haven, the Alzheimer’s Society or to the IWK Grace Health Foundation.   The family would like to thank the Staff at Harbour View Haven Home for Special Care, Lunenburg for all their wonderful care, support and love of Delores while she was a resident at the home.
