Burgess, Paula Faye- age 60, of Yarmouth N.S. passed away on March 30, 2017. Born in Yarmouth, NS on November 20th, 1956 she was the daughter of the late Russell “Duke” Nickerson and Pauline (Doucette) Nickerson. Paula worked at Tim Horton’s for 17 years and prior to that she was employed at the Cotton Mill for 20+ years until it closed. She was known to be a tough woman and a hard worker. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who loved her children. In her spare time she enjoyed crocheting, watching T.V. and loved listening to music. She is survived by her husband Gerald “Jerry” Burgess, Yarmouth, Sons; Jacob “Jake” (Meghan), Yarmouth, Jerry (Veronica), Yarmouth, Brothers; Kevin Nickerson, Carleton, Calvin Nickerson, Carleton, Bruce (Beverly) Nickerson, New Minas, Brian Nickerson, Yarmouth, Sisters; Sherry Scott, Argyle, Connie (Sharon) Nickerson, Yarmouth, Shelly (Howard) Nickerson, Pubnico and Bonnie Nickerson of Carleton, Grandchildren; Brandon, Justin, Logan and Zoey. Besides her parents she was predeceased by her brother; Perry Nickerson. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Sweeny’s Funeral Home and Crematorium, Yarmouth. There will be no visitation at family request. A funeral service will be held Sunday April 2nd at 3 p.m. from Sweeny’s Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Robert Gates officiating. Interment will be in Carleton Cemetery at a later date. Donations in memory may be made to Gilles Boudreau and Friends Cancer Help Fund.
