BRITTON, Ross Willard July 4, 1929 – February 14, 2018 Peacefully on Wednesday, February 14th, 2018 at his home in Acton. Ross, in his 89th year was the beloved husband of Marjorie (Steeper) for 59 years. Loving father of Clifford (Gabriela), Jim (Rosa), Janet (Mike) Baynton, and Cathy. Special grandpa to his many grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. Son of the late Willard and Mary Britton of Acton. Dear brother of Shirley (Don) Swackhamer and brother-in-law of Mervin Thomson. Predeceased by his sisters Betty (Calvin) McIntyre and Eleada Thomson. He will fondly be remembered as a dedicated farmer who was also known to share a story or two and we all know that he loved to tell tales. The family would like to thank all the healthcare professionals for their care provided to Ross and to Rev. Todd Nelson for his spiritual comfort and ministering. A sincere thanks also goes out to family and friends for their prayers and kind support through the trying times since Ross broke his hip almost a year ago. The family will receive friends at MacKinnon Family Funeral Home, 55 Mill St. E., Acton on Monday, February 19, 2018 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held at Knox Presbyterian Church, 44 Main St. N., Acton on Tuesday, February 20, 2018 at 1:30 p.m. Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery, Acton. As expressions of sympathy, and in lieu of flowers, donations to Knox Presbyterian Church, Acton or the Canadian Arthritis Society would be appreciated by the family.
