ROWBOTHAM, Alfred “Alfie” peacefully at the Parkwood Hospital in London on Thursday July 19th, 2012 in his 95th year. Predeceased by mother Florence Bellis and father George, brothers George, Art, Victor, and Stanley and by sisters Catherine, Hilda, Dorothy, and Margaret (Peg), and beloved son David (1994). He leaves to mourn his wife of 71 years Grace (Wilson), sons Larry (Pat), of Thornbury, Bob and the late Valerie of Toronto, and daughter Judy (David) of London. He will be sadly missed by his 9 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. Alfie was born and raised in Belleville and for many years was the planning manager at Stewart Warner and before he retired at Western Supplies Ltd. He served for four years overseas in England and played the trumpet in the air force band, where he played the Last Post at many funerals. In his younger years, he played hardball and hockey and enjoyed golf as he retired at the air base in Trenton. Alfred received his education at Queen Victoria Public School, Belleville Collegiate Institute, and Ontario Business College. He was a great husband, father, and friend to many. Special thanks to the nursing staff at Parkwood Hospital for their dedication, and friendship. Rest in Peace Dad, you will be forever loved and missed. BUSH FUNERAL HOME 80 Highland Ave., Belleville (613-968-5588) on Tuesday July 24th between 4-8p.m. Officers and members of the Royal Canadian Legion are asked to assemble at the funeral home for a memorial service on Tuesday July 24th at 6p.m. Service will be held in the chapel on Wednesday July 25th, 2012 at 11a.m. Interment to follow at Belleville Cemetery.
