Barbara Elizabeth McMechan It is with heavy hearts and great sorrow that we announce the passing of Barbara Elizabeth McMechan (nee Locke). Barb fought a short but hard battle with cancer and she surrendered to it with the grace and dignity with which she lived. She possessed a fierce strength and fought the battle with her own strong conviction and infinite humour. She was, and still is greatly loved by those she leaves behind. Cherished wife and best friend of Glenn McMechan and proud mother of three sons: Christopher and Carly McMechan of Calgary, Ryan and Nicole McMechan of Shannonville, and Brandon McMechan of Toronto. Barb was a tremendously loving wife, mother, daughter, sister, sister-in-law, aunt and true friend to many. Her passing, will be forever mourned by her mother Bobbe Locke Sturgeon and siblings Bonnie Locke, Brian and Dixie Locke, Kerry and Carol Locke, Murray and Terry Sturgeon, Gail and Gary Botting, Lorraine May, Lisa and Kevin Houston and her many nieces, nephews and cousins. Friends are asked to call at the JOHN R. BUSH FUNERAL HOME, 80 Highland Avenue, Belleville (613-968-5588) from 2-4 and 7-9 P.M. on Tuesday, April 27, 2010. Funeral Service will be held in the Chapel on Wednesday, April 28, 2010 at 11:00 A.M. Interment at a later date. If desired, memorial donations to the Quinte Hospice (by cheque only) would be appreciated by the family.
