THOMPSON: Edna "Jean" Victoria Of Bridge Street Retirement Residence, entered into rest on Monday January 9th, 2012 in her 96th year. Daughter of the late Harry & Mary Thompson. Cherished and loving sister of Helen Hales (late husband Bill) of Belleville and Harriet Mitchell (David) of Calgary. Predeceased by her sister Ferne Thompson. Also lovingly remembered by her nephews; Bill Hales, Edwin Mitchell, Jonathan Mitchell and by her niece Sharon Elliott and numerous great nieces, great nephews, great great nieces and great great nephews. Jean was actively involved at Victoria Avenue Baptist Church since her early childhood, teaching sunday school, serving & leading in many areas of church life. She had a great love for the Lord Jesus Christ and followed him faithfully all her years. Funeral Service will be held at Victoria Avenue Baptist Church (34 Victoria Avenue, Belleville) on Friday January 13th, 2012 at 11:00a.m. (with visitation prior from 10a.m.-11a.m.). Rev. Miriam Uhrstrom officiating. Interment Elmwood Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, in lieu of flowers, donations to Victoria Avenue Baptist Church would be appreciated by the family.
