Edwin "Jim" Caird Belleville, Ontario Obituary

Edwin "Jim" Caird

In memory of EDWIN ROBERT CAIRD April 2,1923 to April 2,2012 “Sunny Jim” as he was often called by friends and family, was a man of extraordinary talent and ability. Devoted husband to Eleanor Mae Caird (Scheetz) for 64 years, he is survived by son Robert and daughter Nancy and great grand daughter Jessica and her daughter Eva. A veteran of World War 2, Jim served in the military until 1978 when he retired, then went on to work for the Department of transport at Trenton A.F.B. as a consultant to the base maintenance department. The name CAIRD is Scots’ for “tinker”, meaning, one who is jack of all trades and often master of some. Nothing could be more true of Jim. He built, modified, restored, renovated or otherwise enhanced just about everything under the sun. One of his “tinks” and passion was painting. He became a member of a local painter’s society and was awarded an honorary status for his achievements and contributions. Jim was a man of unwavering honesty and principals. His word was worth more than gold and he rarely let anyone down. He influenced the lives of everyone he encountered and will be remembered with respect by all. Arrangements in care of the Walas Funeral Home, 130 Main Street, Brighton, ON. .
