THOMPSON, Glencoe Leighton- Former assessment commissioner with the Province of Ontario, in Belleville and Trenton, Artillery Veteran of WW II and Member of Branch #99 Royal Canadian Legion, passed away peacefully at the Trenton Memorial Hospital on Sunday March 13th, 2011. Leighton Thompson of Belleville in his 90th year. Son of the late Glencoe & Edna Thompson. Beloved husband of Doreen Thompson (nee Ferguson). Loving father of Robert Craig (Kathleen) Thompson of Fergus. Ever remembered by his three grandchildren Christina (Andy) Zunic, Elizabeth and David (Natasha). Survived by his cousins June McConnell (nee Lowery) and Rayma Smith (nee Lowery). Leighton will be fondly remembered by many friends and family. Friends are invited to call at the Emmanuel Baptist Church on Wednesday March 16th, 2011 from 12:00 noon until time of service at 2:00 p.m. Inurnment to follow at Belleville Cemetery. Arrangements in the care of BELLEVILLE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL LTD. 68 N. Front St. (613-968-5080). As expressions of sympathy donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Emmanuel Baptist Church would be appreciated.
