WILLIAMS, GRIFFITH BERNARD “GRIFF” passed away peacefully at the Trenton Memorial Hospital on Monday, September 19th, 2011, age 86 years. Griff Williams of Brighton and formerly of Toronto, son of the late Whitmore Williams and the late Mabel (Lusty). Loving husband of Mayme (Ritchie). Dear father of Jannette Porter and her spouse James Girling of Toronto, and Ron Williams and his wife Judith of Beaverton. Grandfather of Trevor Williams of Toronto. Predeceased by his one sister and five brothers. Griff was a Flight Sergeant and mid-upper air gunner on Halifax bombers in WW II. He was a proof reader with Southam Murray Printing, as well as several other companies in Toronto. He enjoyed umpiring baseball games for printing and advertising companies in Toronto. They moved to Brighton 13 years ago. The family will receive friends at the Walas Funeral Home, 130 Main Street, Brighton on Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m. Memorial Service will be held at St. Paul’s Anglican Church, Brighton on Friday, September 23rd, 2011 at 2 o’clock. Cremation. As an expression of sympathy, donations to the Charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family. “OH! I HAVE SLIPPED THE SURLY BONDS OF EARTH, AND DANCED THE SKIES ON LAUGHTER-SILVERED WINGS.”
