LUCAS, Jennifer Helen Our family has lost an exceptional wife, mother and grandmother. Jennifer, 69, passed June 20, 2013 after a two month battle with cancer. Her final weeks were spent surrounded by her family, husband Butch, son David (Nicole), daughter Sara (Derrick) and grandchildren Will, Noah and Aubrey. She enjoyed an endless flow of visitors, which was a testament to how dearly Jennifer was loved for her generous, caring and optimistic spirit. When told of her diagnosis, Jennifer made a bucket list: hang on to meet her new granddaughter and make a stockpile of Grandma jam and applesauce, a secret elixir that cures even the most upset tummy. Aubrey Isabel 'Jennifer' arrived three weeks ago and had lots of newborn cuddles with Grandma. And our freezers are packed with jars of jam that took every ounce of Jennifer's energy to make just days ago. We will make applesauce in her honour. Jennifer was devoted to her family's happiness and never let a day pass without expressing her love in words and actions. It was not uncommon for her to make five desserts for Christmas dinner so everyone would have their favourite. She could rarely make a trip to the store without buying a treat for her beloved grandchildren. Our family will miss her deeply. Jennifer is survived by her father Pat Dunlop, stepmother Barb and siblings, Lynn, Darla, and David. She predeceased by her mother June and brother Brian. The family will receive friends at the JOHN R. BUSH FUNERAL HOME 80 Highland Ave., Belleville (613-968-5588) on Sunday from 2-4 & 7-9p.m. Service will be held in the chapel on Monday June 24th, 2013 at 2p.m. Rev. Dr. Hal Wilson officiating.
